Privacy Policy

Your privacy is the entire premise of Angel Tax Agents. This policy explains what we collect, what we don't, and why.
1. We never ask for your SSN
Angel Tax Agents does not collect your Social Security Number, your spouse's SSN, your dependents' SSNs, or any other government identifier. We don't need them — we're an estimator, not a filer.
2. Calculations happen in your browser
The estimator runs entirely in your browser. The income, deduction, and credit information you enter is processed on your device. We do not transmit your refund estimate or the underlying inputs to our servers.
3. Information we collect only if you opt in
- Email-my-results: If you ask us to email your refund estimate, we send the summary to the email address you provide. We store the email + your state + a summary of the estimate for up to 30 days, then delete it.
4. What we do with that information
- Send you the estimate summary and filing recommendations you requested.
- Operate, maintain, and secure the service.
- Honor opt-out requests.
We do not sell your personal information. Ever. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing partners.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use minimal first-party local storage to remember your language preference. If we use analytics in the future, we will use privacy-respecting tools (such as self-hosted Plausible or similar) that do not require consent banners or set cross-site tracking cookies.
6. Data retention
- Email-results opt-in records: deleted after 30 days.
- Server logs: deleted after 7 days.
- You can request earlier deletion by emailing privacy@angeltaxagents.com.
7. Your rights
- California (CCPA / CPRA): right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information.
- Other U.S. states (VA, CO, CT, UT, TX, OR, etc.): similar rights under state privacy laws.
- EU/UK (GDPR): standard data subject rights — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection.

8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, access controls, minimum-privilege). However, no system is perfectly secure. Because the estimate is generated in your browser and we never collect your SSN, the worst-case exposure is your email address and a refund summary.
9. Children
Angel Tax Agents is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes
If we update this policy, we'll post the revised version here and update the "Last updated" date.
